Urban and peri-urban areas
Cities are the future. More than half the world’s population already lives in urban areas, and by 2050, that number will reach nearly 70%. Young people are at the forefront of this shift, relocating to cities in search of work, education, and new opportunities. Many find themselves disconnected from society as they struggle with barriers to decent jobs, unstable livelihoods, and a sense of hopelessness.
We focus on urban and peri-urban areas, where youth populations are growing fast, and informal economies are expanding. These areas are full of energy, innovation, and potential, but access to opportunity is unequal. Our work ensures that cities and its surroundings are places where young people can thrive.

Latin America is home to a dynamic and growing youth population, but barriers such as widespread unemployment, economic uncertainty, mental health challenges, and insufficient skill-building opportunities limit their potential.
